Education
Initial Interest
Having an interest in technology from a young age, my initial interest in programming was likely spawned from videogames. Using the simple click event listener functions in PowerPoint and about 150 slides I was able build a point and click adventure game when I was 11. When I got to high school I took every computer related class that was available including Graphic Design, CAD, Honors Computer Science, Web Design, and Videogame Programming. Throughout these courses I learned that I had a knack for the analytical skills often needed for science degrees but also an amount of creativeness that interested me in the arts . When graduation rolled around I decided on majoring in computer science feeling that I could work on artistic projects outside of studies and work in the future.
Drexel University
Attracted by the high rates of employment before graduation Drexel was my number one choice when applying to Universities. Despite hearing some warning in regards to the quarter system that is used at the university, I felt that I could keep up with the pace. By the end of my fifth quarter at Drexel I had hit a wall of feeling like I could no longer keep up with the coursework and that I wasn't able to retain the knowledge gained in each class due to the pace. Once the situation started resulting in panic attacks it was decided it would be most beneficial for me to transfer to a different university.
Temple University
Being from the Philadelphia suburbs and having a brother and friends that went there, Temple University seemed like the change I needed from Drexel. Finding semesters to be much more approachable I excelled in the coursework while at Temple. Having more time to breath between classes I was able to more clearly understand the concepts that I was learning which gave me more confidence in applying those concepts across my interests. While at Temple I continued study in Computer Science, UX and HCI while also getting involved in 3D Printing and design projects.
Since Graduating
Home Renovations
Since graduating I moved out of the city and in with my partner in a fixer-upper home that I have spent the last few months working on renovating.
Side Work and Family
Along with home renovations I have taken on some side work doing woodworking and IT jobs for friends and family. I also help in the aid of my partner's mother's day to day life and am in the process of starting multiple online shops with my partner.
