UX UI
Insure Buddy UX Mock Project
With the working challenge of needing to create a mock product that helps users in a health and wellness related way, me and my team came up with Insure Buddy. Insure Buddy is a mobile application that will aid its users in performing daily health and wellness tasks. This would include managing insurance policies, revisiting doctor notes, managing appointments, and more.
These slides show our process and findings while conducting user research for the app as well as the resulting demo that we created of the app.
Android PhotoTag UX/UI Design
Logo & App Ideation
PhotoTag was idealized as a on or off the cloud photo management application with object recognition AI to help in identifying and finding photos amongst the user's entire library. When creating the logo for the app I wanted to make it apparent that it was image related, involved being able to search, and lastly I thought including a hashtag would overall help in the branding. To achieve these I used a simple image icon look that I framed with a hashtag symbol and then incorporated a magnifying glass on the most eye drawing part of the image while keeping the handle of the magnifying glass in line with the angles of the image icon.
Applied and Suggested Tags
Do have a general idea of design between team members I created wireframes of common screens to be found in the app. Here an example of what applied and suggested tags could look like while viewing an app while providing an area to add a tag to a single photo
Applying and Removing Tags Across Multiple Photos
We also desired the ability to remove and add tags to multiple photos in a library which we initially imagined including a process of selecting each of those photos.
Searching for Photos with an Applied Tag
Lastly We wanted to be able to search for specific applied tags in a library such as "camping".
Results
Due to changes requested by the stakeholders, time restraints caused me to focus more on android programming and less on UX/UI adjustments. While things like text color and UI element placement could have been more accessible and cleaner, the general UX ideas portrayed in my initial wireframes were utilized in the creation of both the Android and iOS versions of the app.
Talking Walls Web App Mockup
Graduation Project Proposal
Talking Walls was a project idea I came up with that would allow people to document and visit free art in an area such as murals, sculptures and monuments. As part of the proposal I used Axure RP 9 to make some draft pages of the Web App.
Landing Page/ About
Using a brick pattern to establish the branding it would meander down the landing page as text would welcome members and explain the use and how to use the service.
Interactive Map Visualization
A map visualization of the area the user wants to explore would be provided with interactable pins that would display a thumbnail of the art located there, the name of the artist and a link to other works of art that artist had done.
Streaming Hub
A Cross Streaming Platform Aid
Streaming Hub was designed to provide the ability to search for streamable content across all the platforms, while also provided the option to make lists and offered a graphical breakdown of the costs of each of the streaming services.
User Stories
In order to get an understanding of what our team would need to build for Streaming Hub I put together a site map. This site map was used down the line to walk through how different personas might navigate the site.
Proposal for UI Changes to the Home Depot Website
Easier Access to User Related Data
As a general project to pick a website or app to observe and try to improve, me and my team chose the Home Depot website. A glaring issue we decided to try fix was the number of clicks it took to get to account information and settings. We also felt that some screen real estate was being poorly utilized.
Decrease Total Clicks Needed While Increasing Possible User Interactions
To try and reduce the total number of clicks needed to navigate to account related links and settings we added a hamburger drop down menu that pertained only to account and user needs. Next we identified a location accessible from the homepage that could be used to provide more relevant product listings rather than advertising a current sale going on.
